Dr Michael Giblin

Dr Michael Giblin was the first ophthalmologist in Australia to undergo fellowship training in Ocular Oncology. He graduated with honours from Sydney University, and completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital following which he worked in Hamburg and Cambridge.

Dr Giblin is a consultant an honorary consultant at Sydney Eye Hospital and the immediate past chairman of the Sydney Eye Hospital Medical Staff Council. He is a Senior Lecturer in medicine at Sydney University.

He is a past secretary of the International Society of Ocular Oncology, a post which he held from the inception of the Society in 2001 until 2007. From 2008 until 2015 he served as chairman of the Membership Committee of that society. He convened the 18th Biennial conference of the International Society of Ocular Oncology, held in Sydney in March 2017 and was the inaugural president of the Asia Pacific Society of Ocular Oncology and Pathology.
